HID light adjustment
Hello forum,
I have an 01 A6 2.7T w/quattro. I'm the original owner and love the car. I recently replaced the OEM HID light assemblies with more OEM HID light assemblies (Hella). My mechanics installed them without issue, but the lights seemed to be aimed a bit high (I think I was irritating oncoming traffic). So I had the mechanics check the lights, and if necessary, adjust the lights down. They did, but I'm afraid they're pointed too low now. My questions are 1) What is the correct beam pattern height setting? 2) What is the most expedient way to check if my beams are correct by DoT? 3) If necessary, how do I adjust the beam height myself?
I don't think the job would be that difficult as the mechanics were only going to charge me $36.50 for the adjustment. The labor rate here is about $110 / hr.
Thanks in advance,
Jimbo
