I have no heat coming out of my vents
only cold air....it has climate control and I have it set to 87F...and cold cold cold...this is our 2nd Audi car...it is a 1991 Quattro 200 Turbo...my temp gage reaches mid level....but no heat...could itbe a heating core?..do they go on these cars? and are they expensive?
oh yeah like the rules state.

not sure if there is any audi specific problem that causes this, but it sounds to me that either your heater core needs to be flushed/replaced or your thermostat is stuck. its not too likely that your thermostat is stuck thow, being is you say the car does heat up to about mid way

No tech but...I have had the same problem with my A4 180T, The heater core is very low in the heating system, thus rust and other stuff settle there. There are different ways to flush the system. The cooling system (motor) and an flush of the Heating system. After the cooling system was flushed there was no change. Weeks later we flushed the heating system, with a special solvent, We got almost 2 pounds of rust out of the system. Now I flush the system every fall.
This is a general problem with Audi.
