Installing 9.5:1 Lower End in 2000 225hp 9.0:1
2001 US Audi TT Quattro Coup 225HP Stock
Installing 9.5:1 (9.3:1? not sure yet) Lower End in 2001 225hp 9.0:1 and did not do my research before I got this block. Does anyone know if this difference in compression will cause detonation. I am almost sure the factory is 1bar max or 14.5 lb/in2. I am almost sure every thing down to programming is stock. This is a k04 turbo. I hope I can install and drive with out remapping. Any ideas?
Update:
After some schooling I think my game plan will be to finish the job as intended and use my VAG-COM. I will monitor block 020 for ignition adjustments. It looks like anything under 6 would indicate that I am in the safe zone for the time being. If any one thinks this is not a safe bet and other factors like fuel trim may also be an issue, please chime in.

Installed
The 9.5:1 is installed and starts nicely. I have only driven about a mile and let the motor run for about 20 minutes. I am showing no codes and no timing pull on measuring block 020. I haven't been over 4k RPM though.

1000 miles now.
I am at 1000 miles or so now. I got brave and let boost go a few times. I have now developed a knock that only happens when warm.
I am goint to start by looking at the cam chain tension-er, the cam cap torque, and drop the oil pan to inspect rods and oil pickup screen.
I may have just trashed the motor when I boost spiked the motor at 21+ lbs a couple times.
