Default LED tail lights, just put in, now malf. light on

Apparently, when you addaftermarket LED tail lights (Altezza)to your car......the tail light warning light comes on because they don't draw enough power?

I guess I have to addresistors to the wires to the LED banksto fool the car.

Anyone know about this????

You probably will have to add resitors in parallel to draw the same power, watts.

Power = (Voltage X Voltage) / Resistance

Power = 144 / 10 = 14.4 watts

Good luck, it may get hot.

i found an led resistor caculator online.........it calls for a 1 watt 100 ohm resistor on each power line to the led.....one for the parking light and one for the brake light. the bulb that was replaced by the led was only a 5 watt bulb.
let you know........

100 ohm resister will draw 1.44 watts of power across 12 volts

Power = ( E x E ) / R = 144 / 100 = 1.44 watts

ur right.......the 1w 100 ohm did not work.......what resistor do I need?
I need to make a total of 5 watts when the parking lights are on......

The malfunction indicator does not go on when the lights are off.......the brake light does not throw the malf. light on, just the park. light....

thx for the help....
