Question Looking for answers

I bought an 98 cabriolet last weekend. Never had an audi before, and it was to good a deal to pass up. it has less than 90,000 miles and seemed to be well maintained. It has a few issues and I have been surfing pretty hard just to find out as much as I can about how Audis work. Seems like all of my problem are going to be at the central locking system from what I have read. I wanted to post some of my issues and questions hoping that I can get some more knowledge for making better decissions down the road.

so here are my issues....

the top worked once, not any more. no big deal i do it manually.
can`t get the trunk unlocked.
no lighting in the dash clock or gear indicater.
all the windows worked untill last wednesday, now none work from the door master, but all except the drivers window work from the console switch. unfortunatly the drivers window stuck down and I fliped the ignition with my finger on the switch until it rolled up. hasn`t worked since and the back lighting on the master switch is not lit up. I rattled the relays under the dash and it worked for a second, but I have no idea which is the right relay cause I have no manual.

Question I have....

Is there suposed to be a remote with the key?
How does the alarm activate?
Is the top hydrolic, and if so is there a resevior?

Im sure ther will be more questions Later, But right now these are at the top of my list. Any help would be greatly appreaciated...

Thanks
