I bought an audi a4 quattro (97), with 112,000 miles it ticked on the right side (passenger side) head I got a new used low mile head via the internet and had my mechanic replace it all head timing belt tensioner idler waterpump ect ect. last night he called me and said your car is back together but it still tics wtf? pardon my lauange can anyone tell me what to do? Has anyone had this problem 1997 audi a4 2.8 sohc w 5 speed

 

its one of 2 things the hydralic valve lifter or most likely what your hearing is the injectors pulsing, trust mye i had the same issue along with many 2.8 driver espacially the 12v drivers, doa seafoam and use a thicker oil like 10w30, ive been doing this for a bout a year now and no more tics, maybe once in a while on cold morning whan the oil take s second or 2 to make to the top.
