Well I just completed replacing my alternator on my '00 S4 and just found out about SAFE MODE on the radio after the battery was disconnected!!!! No owners manual, no # in the spare tire wheel well. So I pulled the radio and got the auz#, now Im hoping someone can look up the code for me. Thanks

that's going to be a dealer thing but you could check through the service history if you have any, it wont be stamped anywhere on the car its normally in a book or on a card given with the car from new

 

I called the stealership and told them that I had the AUZ # off the radio and, of course, my VIN# and asked if he could get the radio code for me and he said I'd have to bring the car in to be hooked up tothe internet to connect to a computer in Germany to find out the code. I askedif he was FVkn kiddn be but he wasnt laughin! Are you frikn kiddn me? Has anyone else heard of this BS???????

 

i did the same thing was flipping out, but realized the code was in the car's manual in the radio manual.

 

I have no manuals radio, owners, etc....
BUT a Audi rep gave me the info over the phone, All is GOOD!

 

Who was the dealer, I have exactly the same problem with my wifes car.
I have all the codes except for the radio code.

 

I was sworn 2 secrecy[sm=icon_quiet.gif] by the guy who did it 4 me, he said he'd get in trouble. BUT it proves they can get it w/out going there! Have ur VIN and AUZ#(thats wat it starts w/ auz........) and call hopefully whoever you call will hook U up 2.
