Default Need some help. 94 S4. Good battery, won't start.

Hey all. I just bought this car a few days ago. All stock. Drove it home at night and the next morning nothing. I've got good power from the battery. It has a new starter and ignition. All the dash lights light up when I turn the ignition on but when I turn the key to start, nothing. It will start if you pop start it with a little push. After pop starting it yesterday and sitting at work in the parking lot, I hopped in it to leave work and it started right up with the key. Now the same thing again this morning as yesterday morning. Where should I begin my search? Seems like something fairly simple in a switch or loose connection.

VAGCOM code reader.

Pull the codes and it should point you in the right direction.

Default What if you don't have access to a VAG-COM??

I was hoping not to have to buy a reader. Still having the same problem. Intermittingly working fine. Had to pop start it again this morning and after running it for a while and shutting it off, it started right back up. Parked it at worked at 8am and at 3pm nothing. Good power to the starter and the starter relay switch seems to be fine. Is there a neutral position switch/sensor. This car will start with the clutch in or out while in the neutral position. Is that typical??
