Paint Chips on Hood

Paint Chips on Hood
Im trying to figure out what to do with the rust on my hood. Since 1998 my avant has been in the north east accumulating hood chips and little rust dings. One rust area of rust was half dollar size and working its way through the hood. I sanded it off and piled bondo on there to keep it from progressing but i haven't repainted (yes, it is motha f'n ugly). How much should i pay to get this painted? Its a small space but while i'm at it i should have the whole front 1/4 of the hood sanded down and repainted. Having no experience with this, what am i looking at for numbers? From what i've read i don't think i want to diy on this one for a first time paint job.

RE: Paint Chips on Hood
check out the DIY section on painting sections of your car, follow the directions and youll get good results, i had to repaint my bumper i didnt sand or really let it dry for the proper time before each coat but overall it came out good and alot better then when i bought the car. sand, prime, base coat, sand, base coat, sand, base coat, sand, clear, sand, clear, sand and you should have a nice surface* BTW do refer to the DIY section or audidiy.com since i didnt give the whole directions.

RE: Paint Chips on Hood
I'd love to do it myself but where am i going, or how am i going to mix up a perfect paint match? I know one place that can get close and put it in a spray can, but the match on my old saab wasn't good enough for a 1/4 of my hood. Did you use an airgun or what?
