Default Door lock barrell fail

I just thought id share some light on a bad experience i just had so that other audi owners dont fall into the same trap.

Today i turned my key to lock my door and snapped the barrel, so now the key just turns and turns. After an hour with the coat hanger trying to unlock the door, (by trying to catch the door latch with a coat hanger, or trying to hit the "unlock" button on the drivers door for 2 hours) i learned that there was another way to get in... via the boot, turn it to unlock the boot once and turn it again in the same direction to unlock the whole vehicle.

Hope this is helpful to those who dont know...

have been trying for the last half hour to figure out where to post this sorry for inconvenience moderator...

Question Engine swap question

Hi everyone I have a question that I'm hope I can get some help with. So I have a 2000 Audi s4 with a 6 speed manual and the oil pump went bad while I was driving it which locked my engine up. I have found a used engine to replace it and it comes out of a 2000 a6 2.7T but this is where my problem comes into play the 2000 a6 engine had a auto transmission on it. What I would like to know is will my manual transmission bolt up to this engine with no problems? Or is there something I will need to do to make it work? I need all the help I can get please this is my first Audi swap I will be doing?

Hi I have a 2000 Audi s4 b5 6 SPD 133k. My check engine light is on but every time I hock my scanner up to the car it's says unable to establish connection with the vehicle. Does anyone know what can be wrong? I already checked the 10A fuse that's in slot 12 on the driver side of the dash. That's not the problem.

Anstar... your S4 is completely toast. You should just give it to me. I'll even give you my A4 in return.

Or, you can ask your question (after an extensive search) in the S-line subforum for an more timely and accurate answer.

Yes, they are slightly different in length. For better assistance in the future, use the B5 sub forum in the A4 section.
