im sorry, sounds like you need to chat with me in the pm's
its not bad advice
yours is
what if he feels the boot, and feels there no fluid in there
and really, come to find out, there is. what a waste of time?

certified in the auto field, with 4+ years of in shop expierence on all makes and models, does make me very worthy to give advice
and if you dont want me in here, talk to an administrator, stop giveing me crap, im getting very tired of it, its quite annoying actually.
if you want to talk to me about anything thats off subject from this new members thread, since we want to be professional for him, and we are giving professional advice, then please contact me via PM. thank you
Listen, if you feel the boot & don't feel any fluid, that isn't where your problem is. A couple of drops is not a problem & might just be condensation in there.

LOL, 4+ years, good for you. I literally grew up in my Dads shop, I've got some years on you. I commend you on actually giving out advice. But watch what you say & how you say it. Pretend you are talking to your toddler. "Poke holes in boot" is not the same as "pin hole in boot" We can disagree till the cows come home. Poking holes in a protective boot is not a way to troubleshoot a leaking steering rack.

if you want to tell him what to do , thats fine
but pleasedo not belittle my troubleshooting.

besides, i meant 4 years, of being PAID for it.
I have been working cars with my father since i was 8

eventualy it will come to you, where you realiuze i do know what im doing.
I have an odd feeling you wouldnt talk to me in this manner if i were a man, but thats okay
i have learned to deal with this my whole life, and one man telling me otherwise, isnt going
to change the fact that i enjoy working on automobiles

I'm not belittling you at all. Don't feel special, I treat everyone this way. It's part of my duty to point out boneheaded theories why peoples cars are broken. It has NOTHING to due with you being a girl. You'll find that most people who just post ***** all the time, don't have much credibility. You also have to earn it, it's not just given. Best thin you can do is prove me wrong.

FWIW, I was a l'il dazed at the "poke holes init" advice, too. While you are right, pinholes won't matter all that much, you dint initially say "pin-holes." Just "holes." Just like 2k, my mind went to poking it with a mini screw, or sunthin. Not a pinhole. Shop-expedient shortcuts aren't a;ways self-evident to those not accustomed to working in a shop. And, different shops have different shortcuts they develop.

BTW, he rilly IS like that with EVERYbody. Some see it as a character-flaw, I see it as BS-free communications. You NEVER have to wonder what he's REALLY thinking.

well what would have been the right thing to do, is say, " yes you may poke holes in it (with a pin) or you may also try my advice, and feel the boot"

That would have been a moreRESPECTFUL way of saying it.Respect is avalue you may need to become accustomed to sometime in life.

okay, i know that was uncalled for, but i thought since you and i both butt heads, you would probably like these, lol
im down with a truce, are you?
