I need to reprogram my Ir key from my 96 A6. It is the non switchblade key with one button and IR operated.
I searched the forum but can only find the notes for frequency operated key's.

Can somebody help me here.

Well I tried to reprogram the key several times today without any luck.

This is how I did it

1. service key in contact and turn ignition on
2. lock doors with key that needs programming
3. push remote once ( horn sounds once )
4. wait 6 sec.
5. push remote again (door unlocks )
6. turn off ignition and remove key ( all within 30 sec )

this should have programed the key but when I trie the key nothing happens, there are fresh batteries in it so...

Anybody have any ideas ?
