Default RNS-E DVD - Cannot read new nav disk

I have a RNS-E system in my 2005 Allroad which had very early software (Version 001) and nav disk. So I bought a 2009 nav disk.

It seemed to successfully update the software to Version 650 (although it did bring up a PIN screen in safe mode which the dealer corrected by removing the fuse for 5 mins!!).

However, the system will not read the new disk for the nav data (it asks for the nav disk to be inserted). It also will not accept the original disk (says that the version of that disk in incompatible). Other than the Nav Disk issue, all other functions (Radio, TV etc) works fine - better as the update has some bugs fixed and new features.

Any ideas why my disk cannot be read? (it is the backup copy as the original got scratched (oops) - but is a complete copy on a DVD+R DL disk and verifies ok on my PC)

If it cannot be fixed, can I regress back to the original version of the software so my original nav disk can be used?

Any guidance would be appreciated

Default I have sorted it!

The backup DVD was previously burnt with the book type of DVD +R DL - recut with a book type of DVD-ROM (once DVD Writer firmware was updated) and it works fine
