Road Noise Sensor Gone Haywire?

Road Noise Sensor Gone Haywire?
My Audi A4 has a sensor, like all of your Audi's do, I'm sure, that raises the volume on the radio when road noise is high.
But over the past few days, it seems as if this sensor has gone bonkers. Whenever I'm driving, the music volume rapidly goes up and down all by itself.
When I'm idle, or when the car is in park, the speaker level is fine.
Has anyone ever had this happen? Is it simple to replace?
Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks guys.
***** UPDATE:
I've discovered that this is referred to as GALA or SVC (speed volume control). Unfortunately, when I follow the Audi Symphony manual, the SVC option doesn't pop up when I scroll through the menu options.... Everything it there except for SVC.
Any input on this?
