hey guys. My first gen audi A4's Bose concert stereo is in safe mode and I'm not the orginal owner. I can't contact him for the code that he ripped out of the manual. I was wondering if anybody has been able to just send a VIN or seriel number to a dealership via phone to retrieve the passcode. Anybody know any dealerships that do so? Trying to save myself an hour of service fee and the silence is kill'n me.

 

You're right, you need the code. IF the dealer will give you the code over the phone, what's to stop a thief who stole your radio from getting the code ?? Kind of defeats the purpose of the code, doesn't it?
My dealer had to pull the radio out, use the number off the back of the radio and my VIN to get the radio code.
