Pearl white. Has these problems:
small dent in hood. not a big deal.
Cv joints (probably) as car has a clicking noise when turning in a parking lot. cost $450??????
control arms. clunking and a general sense of not being solid over any bumps
or anything that's not perfect pavement. cost: $1200????
oxygen sensor is permanently on. cost $250???
ABS light permanently on. cost?????
brake light permanently on. cost?????
needs valve cover gaskets replaced cost $200??????
Total repair cost $2000 - $25000??????????????
Is thre any point to fix it at all??????????????????????
has 295,000 miles.
Good parts:
Bilstein suspension
paint is polished and perfect.
leather interior fully loaded everyting. interior is awesome.
17" A3 rims with 85% left 235/45/17 Potenzas ($800 installed new)
good stereo with two amps.
Still runs awesome and solid at high speed like a dream when driving aside from problems ahead.
At this point I am guessing the cost of repairs is arounf $2000. So comments would be helpful. What could I get for the car if I salvaged it and kept the rims and tires?
Anyone want this car? lol
Vancouver, BC
thanks

First off, get tools and a friend to help. Every one of these is a DIY job. I've edited your post below with the cost for you to buy the parts you need. You need to find someone with Vagcom to do a full scan of the car and tell you exactly what codes you have, not just in the ECU, but in the rest of the modules as well. That'll determine some of the unknowns.
Pearl white. Has these problems:
small dent in hood. not a big deal.
Cv joints (probably) as car has a clicking noise when turning in a parking lot. cost $160-200 for two new axles
control arms. clunking and a general sense of not being solid over any bumps
or anything that's not perfect pavement. cost: $250 for a kit from FCPEuro.com, plus $75 for an alignment afterward
oxygen sensor is permanently on. cost $80 for a universal splice-in sensor
ABS light permanently on. Cost depends on the issue - $180ish to rebuild the module if necessary, or $10-15 for a wheel speed sensor off a parts car. Or use an air compressor to blow out the hub areas and see if the sensor is falsing from crap building up on it.
brake light permanently on. cost depends on what's wrong
needs valve cover gaskets replaced cost $25-40 for a pair of VCGs
Is thre any point to fix it at all? Yes there is - fix these issues and you have a solid car without the unknowns of another car you could buy that's new to you, but used and treated in a way you don't know.
