Slight Misfire Please Help!!
I have a 2001 TT 225 with 97,000 miles on it.my spark plugs have never been changed so i switched out the oem plugs to an autolite plug that AutoZone recommended, after changing them out the car ran like total crap, so i switched from the autolite to a denso plug from ttstuff.com, i gapped them to .032 like the website says, the car runs a little better but still misses out when i get on it, occasionally the check engine light will flash for a couple secondes, i checked to make sure i had everything put back together right, all sensors and plugs plugged in, and everything seems ok! Any Ideas? Please help the newbie!!!!!

i'm not sure what the gap is supposed to be on that car, make sure that what you're setting it to is withing the range reccommended by audi. Also, it's very possible that the plugs are not the right size(too long, short, wrong resistance) for your car, if you can try cross referencing the numbers to make sure theyre right. Did you change the wires along with the plugs? its very possible that one or more of the ends on the wires was worn out and bent, and it is not making a good connection with the plug.

Check the codes and find which cylinder its missing on, then swap the ignition coil from that cylinder to another and see if the missfire moves with it. If it does you need a new ignition coil.

when the check engine light comes on, it sets a code into the memory. even if the light is not still on, you should be able to view the trouble codes that have happened recently

i suggest trying a smaller gap... if it didn't miss before. you have to assume its something you did.
