Starting problem
Hi, i have just brought a 1998 A6 2.4 V6 and even tho i like the car i have already got a problem, starting the thing, i put the key in put my foot on the brake with it in park and sometimes it fires up and sometimes nothing and now i have found that if i put it in neutral with my foot on the brake it starts, could this be a sensor problem or is there a really special way to start the car, i get this little red emblem show up on the shift area that goes out when you put your foot on the brake before starting it any help/ideas would be good. Thank you all.

Well now it won't start in park at all but so far still starts when i put it in nuetral and in nuetral there is no need to put foot on brake, i also have the problem of if you lock it with the remote then unlock it with the remote after awhile the drivers door will self lock and if you unlock it you have to get in the passengers door and push the unlock button then open it from inside, starting to regret selling my BMW to buy an Audi don't think i would ever buy another one.
