Default Summer 18inch rims & Winter 17inch rims

Hi everyone,

Not too sure if this post belongs here, but I've been asking around and wanted to get everyone's opinion. Is there anything wrong or costly with using 18 inch rims for the summer and then switching to 17 inch rims for the winter?

I have a 2004 A4, 3.0 Quattro, 6 speed. I have the stock 17 inch 5-spoke sport wheels and want to use them for the winter and go out and buy some 18 inchers.

I'm actuallygoing to do the same thing. I've got an '06 A4 3.2Q 6sp and I'm thinking the stock 17" might look a little silly once I lower it. I don't believe there's anything wrong with using two different rim sizes, but a set of 18's and high performance tires certainly won't be cheap.

I bought my A6 usedwith both sets of wheels and have been switching between "summer" and "winter" tires. I do rotate them at 4-5k miles religiously. I noticed a little outside cupping on the Coopers when they went on a few weeks ago, so I had the front end aligned. Otherwise no known problems.
