2002 Audi A6 3.0L Hard Start Issue
About a month ago, I was having intermittent starting problems where the car would not crank at all. I would wait a minute and then it would start fine. I did a Ross Tech Vagcom scan and it came up with no/intermittent G28 engine speed sensor signal. I replaced the engine speed sensor (crankshaft position sensor) with a new cheap Henko brand sensor. It worked fine for a month with no issues and now I have an hard start issue where it takes about 5 seconds of cranking before the cars turns over and starts.
Once the car starts, if I turn it off, and start it again, it will crank over and start immediately. I checked out the battery and it was tested as good. Is it possible that the cheap engine speed sensor is broken? I ran a Vagcom scan and there are no engine speed sensor trouble codes. I found a cracked vacuum line that is connected to the fuel regulator valve and replaced it, but the hard start problem still exists. Any ideas?
