Default V6 Misfire / stumble

I am having a problem with my 2002 A6 with the 3.0L V6. There is a distinct misfire under acceleration - enough that I can see the tach move as it misfires. The check engine light is on. The local garage checked the code and it indicated misfire on #2 cylinder. We have replaced that coil and plug but the misfire is still there and the light came back on. I am wondering if it is actually an O2 sensor. Or maybe I just need all new coils and plugs.

We only recently picked the A6 up so have no real mechanical history. The car has north of 120K on it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

I just recently purchased an Audi A4 V6 3.0 2002.. I too have a misfore code but on 2 4 and 6. It also threw a code for my O2 sensor. I just got my O2 in I'll let you know how it works out.

How did the O2 sensor work out? How much to replace? Got a code on my bank 02.

I started with replacing all the coil packs - straight forward and not terribly expensive. I cleared all the codes and so far in over a month there has been no CEL come on an dteh car is running fine. I am thinking the coil packs were a bit old and causing a bit of a mis-fire that was dumping some raw fuel down the exhaust and "upsetting" the O2 sensor. Anyway, same old O2 sensors and no issues to date.
