OK, I bought a VAG5053 Handheld Programmer/Scanner. it was only $150, and says it does almost everything a VAG1551 will do, but I am unsure how to use it, and can't find anything on how to really use it.

So has anyone used one or have one that can help me? Or should I send it back, and just spend the $300 for a Vag-Com? I have a 30-day money back... so about another week or so to figure it out, or decide.

I want to recode the central locking module, and do the recode to tranny and engine for 2.8.



And also I have installed an aftermarket stereo, should I unplug it and plug in the factory before doing any recode? It seems the system has alot to do with the stereo.
