Default *Product Review* Amsoil Ea Air Filter

well i just swapped out the cheap paper filter in my 99 a4 1.8t TIP, and replaced it with an Amsoil Ea (Absolute Efficiency) air filter hoping to get a little better performance and gas mileage. on filling up w/ sunoco ultra 93, $5/1.7 us gal., i could get about 30 miles before filling up again. after replacing the filter, using the same fuel and same driving style/route, i am getting AT LEAST 40 miles before having to fill up. there is also a little bit more turbo whistle it was an easy install, dropping right in place of the old filter.

i am very happy with the purchase, and for around $30, it is cheaper than a k&n (wet gauze) filter, does not have to be oiled, only blown out w/ shop air, and has helped my gas mileage. i can't wait to take it on the 100mi trip to my camp to see how it compares to the paper filter on the highway.

BTW i ordered the filter from www.horsepowerslut.com and it is part numer EAA239

So you went from a pathetic 17.6 to 23.5 mpg??

You had a problem before if thats true.. there is no way in hell a filter will give you a 5 mpg increase unless the old filter was absolutely trashed.
