Default 28" magnaflow

I came across a stainless steel magnaflow that has been barely used....I mean it basically looks new.
BAD things:
-it's 28" long
-it's has offset 3" in and center 3" out.

Will having a longer magnaflow add or reduce the sound?
I should still have plenty of backpressure since the stock cats and resonator are still there.

From visually looking the muffler should fit snuggly up there. since the inlet is offset it actually makes the turn simple to connect to the stock piping. And since it center out there would be a 3" center out. I guess I could always at dual tips if it dont look right or looks rice.

Thoughts? For $40 I could resist picking it up. If the responses I get are not what I'm looking for then I might sell it and get a smaller one.

Thanks,

My girl has an 01 a4 2.8. I used the Magnaflow #14862 which is 23" and I love the sound after it gets broken in. It added a noticable but not loud tone to the exhaust and it fits an Audi (not a ricer sound). I know its not the exact one you have, but some info is better than not. Good Luck

the longer magnaflow will make it quieter than say a 23", but still better sounding and louder than stock. I would say jump in it for $40. thats just around what i oaid and i love the way mine sounds, fitting of an audi and not ricey. Just like the post above me said.
