Unhappy Help!!!

Hi,
I love my 1999 Audi Quattro Wagon - A6. Love it. But it needs a new exhaust system and my repair place just said it would be OVER $3000.
Gag and choke.
I just spent $1600 doing all sorts of stuff to the front end..sway bars, etc...and now this.
Talk me off the ledge please. Doesn't that seem high?

I bought the car for $3300 last spring - now has 190k miles.

Also quoted $290 for rear wheel bearing.

I am non-automotively inclined...so need to trust the shop.
Thank you!
Susie

$3k for exhuaust seems a little steep, especially considering that most aftermarket performance exhaust systems for your A6 seem to run in the $1,100-$1,500range. Installation shouldn't be more than $200 on any of them. Not sure about the rear wheel bearing though.
