Nice the 12 volt relay wasnt needed all you had to do was move the mute wire to another location and tap the parking brake and ground it but nice that you did it. And if you dont like the trim metra made one that matchs the smoothness and even the black thats in ours I put it with my Avic which isnt quite finished yet lol.

It is difficult to find a car that matches my speedometer lighting (2003 Mazda Protege 5). Each unit head replacement with good characteristics are single din or have blue accents. I Double DIN (does not seem quite cheese) with red / deep orange accents ISH. This could be possible with this.

First off, great post, I'm following what you're doing with mine. I've run into a little issue though. I've been using a coat hangar to run all the lines throughout the car and I cannot get it through the side post. I don't want to damage anything, especially since I don't know how far the airbag goes down the pillar. How did you get the bluetooth cable through there?

I've got a 2004 A4 1.8T Quattro with Bose and the new Pioneer AVH-3200BT.

Thanks!

I dont know how she did hers but when i first had it in the stock location i did the plastic spatular method and every 6 inches i wrapped tape around the wir pulled up alittle on the pillar and used the spatular to push the wire underneth. Thats how i had it till i got the funk button from oem and took the cupholder out and replaced it with the three button setup and hollowed out a button to hide the mic in it.

I did finally figure it out yesterday. I basically did what you said.

Can you explain how this auto relay works? I'm thinking about putting one in.

Like i said i never did her way it was to overly complicated I did a bypass mod on mine it was as simple as removing the mute wire and placing it in a diffrent location and grounding it with the hanbrake wire so i makes my system think im always stationary. Thats what her relay does but she too has an avic which she so didnt need to do it she could of done it my way. You on the other hand have a Pioneer AVH-3200BT according to the web search I did on it alot of guys are saying you can just ground the brake wire. So i would say just ground it temp try it out while driving and if it works permently ground it then.

To play a video you have to unground and then ground the green parking brake wire. That's where the relay comes in. The relay is normally open, but when 12v is applied, the relay closes and grounds the green wire. Or you could manually unground and then ground the green wire everytime you get in your car. The relay is pretty cheap, and there's a few videos on youtube floating around describing how to install it. It's easier than you think.

Your antenna adapter is the issue with your poor radio reception. You need the antenna adapter that has a blue power lead that comes out of it (amplified antenna system). I believe I got mine from crutchfield - I had the same issue with my original antenna adapter crappy reception. Now it is STELLAR.

Default BOSE or not?!

Hi all, I've recently become a owner of a 2007/08 A4 2.0TDi 170 and was wondering I currently have the audi concert system which has the sub and amp in rear wheel arch but does this class the same as the BOSE system as I can't get the wiring harness for one that does not have BOSE for the pioneer avic d3 that I'm planning on getting. Many thanks to any and all replies.
