Audi Repair in the Chicagoland Area
I am new to the forum and hoping the community can help . . . I am looking for an Audi repair shop in the Chicagoland area - preferably the Northern Suburbs. My 2002 A4 is having engine issues and is currently at McGrath Audi - I am not sure I totally believe what they are telling me and would like a 2nd opinion. Thanks!

go to Athans Motors in 9040 N Waukegan Rd, Morton Grove, IL (847) 967-8700. The service/repair shop their is run by the guys who owned and operated RennArt before, an Audi/VW/BMW motorsports shop in Des Plaines. Billy and Anthony know Audis better than anyone i have talked to (and i have talked to a lot all over Chicago). I have talked with them for hours about recommendations for my car as i was adding onto it. I do most of the work myself, but always take it to them for the tricky stuff. They are very transparent and honest too. Tell them Tyler with the Red A4 sent you.
Call them or bring it in and they could tell you whats up with it.
I stay away from McGrath, except oil changes.
The only downside is the dealership they work for. They have all high end used cars there, and becasue of that the shop labor price isnt cheap. Its $99 an hour. However, they always give you the benefit on time.

The satellite radio was all OEM stock on my A8 but with XM when I bought it. That was before the XM/Sirius merger. So I sold my perfectly good XM module on eBay and bought a Sirius module from eBay and it has not worked 100% ever since. I had a brand new Sirius module installed briefly at a dealer and it worked flawlessly so I know it can work well. I just haven't ponied up the money for the new unit. To answer your question though, all the wiring and setup was already installed by the factory for me.
