MI/OH area winter driving!!??
So i'm going to be starting UMich soon, and was wondering what the driving is like in the winter. Basically it boils down to this...is it recommended not to bother lowering the car .75" or so in that area? I know it snows a decent amount and was wondering if any of you have had problems with lowering your S4's. Lemme know!
Also, would it be a good idea to get an alternate set of wheels with winter/snow rubber? Or is the weather actually not that bad, and normal tires can handle it? Thanks all!

well im MI, people know how to drive. In ohio, they suck. You should be fine stock in MI. Wouldnt lower it though. Stock tires will work ok. But fun as hell driving in snow with AWD.
For sure. I have a feeling this Masters program is going to kick the living crap outta me. But it's something I love so it'll be worth it!
We'll have to get some meets going on the weekends...that would be dope.

My brother attends Grand Valley and I have relitives down state and the snow isn't too bad. My brother is taking down his volvo s70 next year when he is a sophmore so you should be fine. Up here in Traverse it does snow a lot sometimes but I am looking to go to Michigan Tech up in Hougton so that should be fun!
I spent three years driving from western MI to Dearborn area. Ann Arbor gets snow, but not a lot. I've seen more problems with a light snow that melts due to traffic and ices the road. Because of the traffic volume, it is a dangerous drive.
You want to have all season tires. High performance tires are next to useless on ice or in slush.
Or just stay in the dorm until the roads are clear, which doesn't take very long.
