I just called up Ross-tech and they said that the VAG-com is for diagnostics only and doesn’t do things like change shift points?

 

I think thats right - shift pointsare not alterable, but I have a 5mt so I dont know. Although I have a vag-com (almost just put vag, just doesnt look right) and I did the window mod, LOVE it. nothing like closing the sunroof with the keyfob!

 

Right. VAG-com only tells youhowthecar is running, the codes its throwing and other details. It doesnt allow you to 'tune' the car through the program, rather suggests how to tune it.

 

Yes the vag can run codes and all that stuff, but on a tip you can recode the tranny to sport or race? mode. Sport mode holds 1st gear longer (it shifts to 2nd very fast stock) and Race mode allows you to hold first till redline (nice for showing off exhaust notes...) The Vag will also allow you to recode the Comfort settings such as rolling up your windows with the keyfob. It should be fun, Cya all in a few days
