What's up guys? So after years and years driving my old man car (03 4.2 S-Type), I decided to get a new car when I finish my masters this Spring. After weeks of reading and searching I think I've settled on the B7 S-line. I thought about the Mazdaspeed6, WRX, IS300, 330i, etc, but I think the Audi is the best car for the money and in terms of performance and amenities. I seriously considered a WRX but then thought, what about really long trips, sure it's liveable but is it road trip liveable? My Jaguar is far fromthe greatest car ever, but after all the initial niggles were ironed out during the first 20k miles it turned out to be a fine car, good power and extremely comfortable, just not very sporty. I decided it would be fun to have a car they made aftermarket stuff for again. I used to have a LS1 SS Camaro convertible and they made all kinds of things for it. So all the cars I listed have strong aftermarket support. I had passed up on the Audi at first when I read about timing belt issues, but then I realized it wasn't that big of deal, just a little extra maintenance. Overall I think the reliability should be better than a BMW but not as good as a Lexus, I can live with that. What I really liked were the kudos the a4 gets for it's quattro system and the modability of the engine. The interior looks really nice, the exterior is subduded but it's still a great looking car. Anyway, gonna go find some threads on coolant leaks and othe issues that may pop up, intercoolers, turbo upgrades, downpipes, flash programs, haha, this is going to be fun.
