Default Australian with Audi in Michigan :P

Hi All!

I feel very continental writing that title!
An Aussie driving a German car in the United States. Nice lol.

Anyway, I just picked up a 2000 Audi A6 2.7T 6-Speed. I've pulled the dreaded Bosch 5.3 ABS unit out and had it repaired by Matt @ Cheap-Abs.com

Works great now (reinstalled it today).

110k miles on the clock, no accidents, pretty good shape outside, some scuffs/dirt inside. Had it for about a week an am yet to swap the title over and re-insure it. (also have to sit for a Michigan drivers license first :P)

Back in Australia I've got a couple of modified cars and a rally car. I'm happy to tinker and be a nerd, but there's a few issues I'd really like sorted.

If anyone is in the Michigan/Grand rapids area I'd love to catch up and have a meet!

Cheers,

Zac

Alsom not a car forum n00b. Moderate/Own some in australia. :P

Also, I was attempting to remove the "easy to remove" cluster, and you can see the result.

I dropped the steering wheel to its lowest point, undid the screws, and pulled/pried.

It really didn't want to budge and i'm sure there's something else that needs unscrewing!

Well it has a stage 3 clutch (single mass), and it's had quite a lot of new stuff done to it.

i'd like to apr it exhaust/headers/flash and then we'll see how we go haha

If you want, there's currently a group buy going on for Speed Tuning chip. I believe it's $160 for it. The only downside is that if you decide to go bigger turbo, you'll have to find a new tune as Speed Tuning doesn't support bigger turbo files from what I know.

i'm not planning on going the bigger turbos.

if i did the chip later on i'd probably do the exhaust as well.

I think with the ST chip it's also recommended you do the DVs and TBB?

Welcome. I'm an Englishman driving a German car, living in Western Pennsylvania, with a wife from near Traverse City Michigan. Just wanted you to feel a little less alone.
