I have heard from some ppl that its really not good to use your tiptronic. and its REALLY bad to use it a lot.

well, my car always kinda shifted funny...it likes to sit above 3000rpms waiting for me to either go faster so it can shift at about 4200 or it just rides at high rpms for a few minutes and eventually it realizes i'm not going faster and shifts. SO because this totally irritates me, I use my tiptronic a lot....plus i mean its fun.

but if it was so bad to use the tiptronic, then why is it there?

 

You right why would they put it there if it was bad, ite perfectly fine to use it all the time just dont like over rev it all the time and stuff

 

Never heard of that before. Nothing wrong with using tiptronic.

 

no it isnt, theres nuthing wrong wit using it
the tip mod is programmed so u dont over shift or under so u dont over rev or stall the engine

 

ok so next question
do u take ur foot completely off when u shift or leave it on full force orrrrrrr just slightly take away pressure but still be pushing on the gas while shifting?

my friend has a passat and his VW dealer told him that you should leave your foot on the gas and slightly release some pressure.
my boyfriend seems to think he's right all the time and claims that you shoudl take ur foot OFF the gas completely......as if it was a true manual

i, personally just remove some pressure and still shift with my foot on the accelerator

I wanna drive a tip shift, Looks pretty cool. I got a 5speed so it probably would be weird having no clutch. I just wanna drive one not buy one! It would be coool to have the tip shift w/ a clutch!! Sequencial shift!
