Default Can you help me?

Hey,
I am the kind of person who loves all cars especially the s4 and takes great care of his cars but i have a tough decision to make. I have the opportunity of buying a used s4 probably with 50k miles plus or minus 10k in great condition or a new Toyota Tacoma Pre Runner with the Off Road Package. I know this may be a stupid question but I want to know why choosing the s4 would be better for me, an upcoming college freshman. I love the s4 and everything about it and have always loved them. Someone in my community drove a blue one and when I would see it, my jaw would drop. But the dilemma I am having is the fact that will the s4 be good for me in college? My friends tell me that the Tacoma is more practical and it would be easier for me to do things with the tacoma because I could drive through dirt and bumpy roads and i could throw stuff in the bed of the truck like a bike or ATV. I could even throw a BBQ in the back for a tailgate...I dont know what to do!!! The truck is nice but i really like the s4 and i dont know which one to choose. On top of that my friends say that because the truck would be brand new i would not have to worry about anything braking down on me for a while. I know they are completely different and the s4 would be a great ride but the s4 can not take me through dirt roads. I know all cars have tendencies to break down but will the s4 be giving me any major trouble soon? Is the s4 going to be less comfortable for me in college? If anyone has anything they would like to say to help me make my decision, please do.

Thank you for your help.

well you would pick two of my favorite cars, I love Taco's. Any way with your question, I've seen a few S4's here at college but unless you have the bank role to keep up with maintenance the taco might be a better choice for a college car.

With that being said, I'd absolutely love having an S4 in college.

So to answer your question, if you can keep it running get the S4 and never look back, if you need it to last forever and you like off roading, then get the Taco.

Dude, your onthe Audi Forum everyone here is going to tell you to get the S4. If your on a low budget or low on cash since you are a college student you might want to go with the safe bet and get the Taco. But in reality you need to go with your gut feeling and pick the car you really like, because it would suck to be driving around something and thinking I should have gotten the other...........Peace

I'd go for the S4, but as college student are you gonna have cash on hand to fix/maintain the S4? Even preventative maintanance can pricey. But all in all being a soon-to-be college freshmen your parents may be helping you with those types of costs so if thats the case go S4.In fact in every situation my mind generates i go S4.

How often do you NOW venture off into the mud, even as a passenger in someone elses car? Do you HAVE a dirtbike of an ATV? is that going to be a BIG issue, for you, going forward? I'm pretty sure they have trailer rentails, wherever you may happentto be, for toting bikes & atv's and such, should teh rare need occur. You do know the s4 comes witha backseat, right? While not as utilitarian as a pick'emup bed, it comes in handy for double dates.

on the other hand, in the taco, you slap some jim-bob sized tires on that thing and you can go almost anywhere; and, the bed is handy for tossin random things into (take a peek into the bed of the next few taco, or even regular pickups that you come across, if you want a visual representation of what I'm talking about). And, from that high up you'll have a commanding view of traffic, as well as free insurance against most floods (you didn't mention if you attended school in a low-lying area, or not, so I assume teh worst).

Possible scenario:
You and your room-dog're cruisin to the SU, to pick up some pamphlets on dorm-room-cleaning, let's say. A couple hotties are walking in teh same direction. You stop to offer a ride...
[ul][*]In the Tacoma - You'd hafta kick your bud to the P/U bed, along with whichever hottie you deemed 2nd best (which would NOT make you HER idol, believe me). Meanwhile, the really HOT one you invited into the cab has diarheea of the mouth and canNOT stop talking. Suddenly the one you diss'd, the one in BACK is looking like the better choice... BUT, you've already sorta kicked her to the curb, huh? DAMN!!![*]In teh S4 - same scenario, except, you kinda just pulled up to the curb and asked if you could give them a lift, true? THEY picked who sits in front or back. If your seatmate starts rambling on about her upcomming cheerleader tryouts (as if, chuh...), you pull a quick stop and say these simple wirds: "Escuse me, would you two mind terribly switching seats?" Now, the one who ISN'T pounding your ears with verbal novacaine is sudden;y IMPRESSED that you want to have HER in teh fron, with you...[/ul]
All you gotta do then is get the digits (hey, you want a happy ending written FOR you, go by a fairy-tale, this is reality, SON, you gots to close your OWN sales), and you're swimmin in 'tang by the weekend.

Now, for a PIMP like me, the choice isn't even a choice. But, you gots ta make yourself happy. Capice?

BRAVO, BRAVO Well said AWDaholic.........
JAZZ BOWS AND EXITS, STAGE-RIGHT.

Two curtain-calls later, the crowd is STILL standing and thunderously applauding, as Jazz quietly exits via a rear-stage door to his D2 A8, where, oddly enough, to young and beautiful coeds from whatever school the OP goes to are standing back, away from the throng of people clammoring for an autograph... Jazz invites them in, as he starts the car and adjusts the front & rear electric seats (is that even an option in the Tacoma?), and speeds off through the slush & snow, secure in the knowledge that His Quattro can handle it.

When your PIMP-hand is Audi-strong, you dont even HAVE to raise it. [sm=pimp.gif]
They just naturally fall in line.[sm=icon_ladiesman.gif]
