Considering A4 ultrasport
Greetings everyone.
I was at a local Audi dealership today because I've been looking for a new car, and the A4 was on my list of potentials. I was very interested in a car they had there, and wanted to ask you guys what you thought of the potential deal (they haven't gotten back to me with numbers yet), or what you'd expect for a lease on this car.
The car (as I remember):
2005 A4 1.8T Quattro, Dolphine Gray
-ultrasport
-premium package
-sound/bose package
-xenons/lighting package
-a few other accessories such as silver tail lights, and chrome grille
Sticker on this was just above $37k, but it was red tagged to "$500 over invoice" along with a lot of other A4s. I'm not sure what that figure is exactly, because the "red tag" just had lease prices, but in a configuration that I didn't want.
I'm wanting to roll as much of the up front costs as possible into the lease (fees, tt&l, etc.), with a 42 month lease at 12k m/year.
Has anyone put a similar deal together? And if so, what kind of lease payment did you end up with?
I went in to run some numbers on it, but their computer systems had just gone down, so they said they'd call me when they came back up and could figure the lease. Otherwise I'd have a lot more detail
But would still like to do a comparison just so I know where the ballpark is on a lease. I've always done traditional financing on cars, and am very confident in that, but haven't done a lease before.
Thanks in advance for any help you have. And how are you liking your Audis? I figure this is a bastion of unbias info

OH--one other thing I neglected to mention...
This car was used as a demo, and has over 3,000 miles on it. They're still selling it as "new." I know just from a previous visit to the dealer that it's been on the lot for at least a month. I figure this gives me a bit of extra leverage in negotiating the cost, especially since this is a slow sales time for them.

Hi sxates, welcome to the forum. I don't have any experience with B6 A4's, but i'm sure it will be a great car. I love my Audi am sure you will love yours if you buy it. Yes this is some unbiased info.

Well, I ended up buying it tonight anyway
$448/mo (with $1k down)--if that's horrible, I don't want to know about it
I'll try and get you guys some photos by this weekend--its a sweet ride.

Like the car!!
I actually pay less then what you do but while mine is not exactly a lease I do have a higher annual milage limit. Plus your's seems to have more options so I don't think you did to bad price wise.
Do you plan to chip it out?

You have to do what you are comfortable doing. While my car is technically not a lease that is essentially what it is. I have done several modifications to my car but most of these can be reversed such as the stereo upgrades, while others can't. When I hit 5K I did get the APR stage 1 ECU upgrade and I can say that it really did make a difference in the performance of the car. I recently learned that they have new software out that will further increase the performance wich I will do next week (at no cost). In addition to this I'm also planning on installing the larger fuel injectors which should have a significant impact on performance. When I complete this I should have 235HP and 275Ft lbs compared to the stock 170hp and 166ft lbs.
I would suggest finding someone who has their car chipped out and see if they would let you drive it to decide for yourself. I've been very happy with the chip so far and I haven't had any problems with it or Audi from it.
