Default Do a good deed, help a newby go faster!

Good Afternoon Good People,

As we speak I have a '96 A4 1.8TQ getting checked over by my mechanic and all being well I'll be laying down some hard earned cash for it this afternoon.

I have heard from a couple of people that there is a plug and play 'chip' available for this car that significantly increases the HP and torque (especially lower in the rev range). I have heard figures of around 150BHP (standard) increased to 180-225BHP with a chip.

1. Is this correct:

2. Are any other mods required or can the car handle it (I can sure handle it):

3. Where do I go to get one, preferably a reputable person who will ship internationally:

Thank you for your help, if you do indeed help and drive well.

- Cooch.

Welcome to the forums! You'll have better luck getting questions answered in the A4 section.

1- Kinda, there' is a chip for the 97+ 1.8t. But there isn't a chip for the 96 1.8t.

2- Nope

3- There are several companies around, but unfortunately no one makes a chip for your ride.

Well there might be BaconBait. In europe the 96 1.8t is most likely the same as the 97 we got here. Welcome to the forumsCoochseymor, please post specific questions in the A4 forum.
