Hi,
I just joined this nice forum even though I've been visiting many times in the past. I purchased my first A6Q 3 years ago used it's a 99.
Thanks to all the nice members on this forum I have been able to trouble shoot and save money on several repairs.
I've alway owned and still do MB's and Volvos, quite frankly I like them better. The Audi is unbelievable in the snow, that is themain reason I purchased it besides the fact that it is a nice looking car. What I don't like about it is the fact that it is a pain to work on, it's not fuel efficient andit goes through tires faster than most cars.
I am now waiting for a timing kit to come in so that I can install it, 80K, the water pump is leaking. I've been trying to fix a rear vibration at 65mpg from the diferential for 1 year. After taking it to several places and replacing tires, axles, rotors, I just live with it. The Electronic display is shot and I don't feel like swinging 700.00 buck to replace the entire instrument cluster. If the tranny ever goes I might as well junk the car, that tranny scares me.
Well no one made me buy it, and I don't plan to get rid of it any time soon, just wanted to share my feelings.
When I tell people that I have to rip out the entire front of the car to replace the timing belt they think I'm kidding, I think Audi could have designed it a little more service friendly that.
Meanwhile I'll keep visiting and getting some good advice from all you knowledgeablle people that are so helpfull.
