Headlamp Motor Failure
I took my 2004 Audi A6 into the body shop for some minor fender repair on Monday 4/16/12, when I dropped it off my headlamps were working as they should be. The repairs were completed by Thursday 4/26/12, I picked my car up in the afternoon on 4/26 and noticed the headlamp warning light on in the instrument cluster. I took the car into the Audi dealership to have this checked out this morning and was advised that the headlamp motor was not responding and that the entire assembly would have to be replaced for $1365.00!!!!!! The body shop acknowledged that they had disconnected the headlamp to proceed with the repair.....what I need to know is, what are some of the causes for headlamp motor failure? Do I go after the body shop for the cost to replace this headlamp motor? After all the lights were working when I dropped it off, and NOT working when I picked it up!!! PLease help me, thx!
