Default Hello

Hey, new here, new Audi owner.
I picked up a 99 A6 quattro wagon 30v with 125k a week ago on the cheap. I've started tackling what seem to be quite common problems so far.... timing belt, valve cover/cam/tensioner seals, steering rack/tie rod ends, and the incredibly over engineered pcv system.

Next on the list are control arms and whatever vacuum lines I can get at.

A little about myself, I'm an avid auto crosser, and 24 hours of lemons/chump car racer. Camaros for autocross and we have a a nissan 200sx and 240sx for lemons (if anyone is ever looking for a rental spot at a northeastish lemons or chump car race hit me up) .

I'm from Buffalo NY, have a kid, and picked this up as a family car.

Thanks for all the good info on this site, it has helped a ton so far and I'm sure there is more to come.

Willkommen to the forums!

congrats on the car. seems like you are pretty squared away with getting some of the maintenance issues taken care of. lots of good resources on here for DIYers.

We have a pretty active group of guys in the Binghamton, Ithaca area. They try to get a meet going a couple of times a year. I hear it is a really good time filled with beer and cars and beer and food and beer and cars. Check the regional section of the forums for examples of past debauchery

I'm jealous of your Lemons experience. it is one of those things that is on my bucket list

good luck

have fun
