Hello All.. Just purchaced 01' A4 1.8t Avant Q.
I bought my first Audi last week.
It's a 01' A4 Avant Q. 1.8t 5 speed, with the factory sport package. Purchased from the orig. owner with around 68k miles. Silver/Black.
This car is in very good shape with a long dealer serviced history (if that means anything, lol) Regardless, I still had some reliability concerns so I had a good friend/tech look it over. Turns out the car did need some work before I could feel confident about driving it aggressively every day. Now that all of it is done I couldn't be happier with my A4! Just needs a good bath
The following work was completed this week, all new oem/or german parts:
-Full timing belt service.
-Cam chain adjuster. ($ ouch)
-water pump
-thermostat
-coolant flush, new pink coolant
-valve cover gasket
-remove/install oil pan to check/clean in case of sludge.
-fuel filter
-OEM AUDI catalytic converter ($ ouch, again)
-5w30 synthetic oil with the "bigger" audi oil filter
-scanned car for any codes, checked out "OK"
My new car really runs great! All the credit goes to my good friend/tech. If anybody is in need of "good/honest" BMW,Audi,VW repair in SF Bay Area, I'd be glad to refer them to my buddy.
A pic of my car and (some) of the new parts..
