Default Hello! Considering A4 or A6

Hi I have an 06 MB C230 at the moment looking to get rid of it. I'm fed up not being able to even change transmission fluid myself. It requires expensive dealer visit. And it's literally a POS. Gave us problems from starting from 400 miles.

Now I'm considering A4 or A6 possibly 2005+ models. Are these cars easier to work on? Do they have dip stick on trannies? How's the maintenance. Please feel free to chime in. What are some of the common problem areas that I need to look for?

Thanks

if you're looking for a less expensive car to maintain, you picked the wrong one. tranny's are sealed just like the benz. in order to change tranny fluid you'd have to have the car level and have it running with a vag-com cable and change it at the proper temp. these cars require alot of maintenance. im not very knowledgeable with the c6's problems, but check for timing belt, cv boots, maintenance records, and that the mmi is updated on the a6.
