Hello everyone, I just joined this site after purchasing my second Audi. Never knew they had forums till I was told by few friends. Well I had a 1998 Audi A4 back in the day. When I was sent overseas for my military deployment (2003), I needed the money so I told friends to sell my audi a4. I got back 2 years ago(2005) bought a 1999 M3 which I still have. Now, just about a week ago, finally purchased a 2001 Audi S4 with manual transmission. Joined the forums cause of that car. I need to see and learn what my car is capable of and I am sure, reading and learning from these forums will teach me a lot. If anyone has tips and pointers on where to begin when it comes to modding, do let me know. As I am a newbie, your expertise would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Thansk for all the responses. Yes indeed this car has tons of power. I am quite amazed as it is. Well it turns out my audi seems to be a 2001.5. I heard they changed the turbos on it? not too sure, but I am looking right now to buy a modded ecu. Any tips on which chip / companies are best to look into? Thanks.

 

Just out of curiousity, which one do you think is better when it comes to handling (and maybe power), the M3 or the S4?

Honestly, the handling is better on my 1999 E36 M3, but I can really feel the power on my 2001.5 Audi S4.
The thing is, Audi S4 Costs a lot less to produce greater horsepower. My M3 costs more to produce the same horespower the audi does, thats especially when purchasing a turbo charger system or supercharger system. They both are great cars. Both European engineered to satisfaction. I just do not want to get rid of these two. Sometimes I want to drive my Audi and sometimes my BMW. My S4 is a lot roomier then my M3 coupe. So that is a major plus as well. I am very happy regarding my Audi purchase.

 

I am finding that out, that I may have picked the best one. Seriously there are so many mods and most are not all that expensive. This beast is capable of enormous power gains. I did not know the potential till I actually started researchin little by little. Thanks for the compliment. I will definately be customizing under the hood first before anything else.
