im new here, i drive a06 cobalt ss/sc. i have a few questions about the s4. really nice car btw, but wondering how much hp the 4cyl turbo version is putting out. i searched online and all i could find was s4 quatro v8

 

The S4 doesnt come with a 4 cylinder.. only the A4 does, The A4 came with a 1.8T and the newer onese come with a 2.0T

 

welcome to AF, the S4 version of Audi comes in only V6 or V8 engine. If you are looking for 4 cylinder audi then you are talking about the A4(S4 is the sport version of A4). The 1996-1999 i believe puts out 150 horses while the 99.5 on puts out 170 horses. If you are looking for a 2001 and below S4(v6 2.7L engines,bi-turbo), they put out 250 horses stock, and im not sure what the 02 and up models produce, but they are V8 engines, also bi-turbo.

 

the V8 B6 S4's are not Bi-Turbo.. only the B5 S4's are.. So if the S4 has a V8 in it, it is N/A

 

Ahh see i did not know that, thanks for the enlightment. I mainly know about the B5's since i own one.

Yea thats a B5 S4(96-01), produces 250HP stock, probly was chipped, a chip takes it to about 310HP, exhaust another 5-10HP, thats why it probably beat your stage 2. It could even have had 2 KO4 Turbos since its a bi-turbo, then you are looking at over 400HP!!! S4's are fast man, there are a few daily driven cars that can beat it out there, its compared to an M3.

 

not sure of his mods but he didnt beat me..we were dead even from a dig to 60mph..with me having no traction in 1st and beginning of 2nd. it did sound like he had an aftermarked exhaust though, kinda had the tone of an srt4
