Default Hey guys!

Hey, my name is Nathan and I just got a 2002 A4 two weeks ago. I've been around the internet looking for information about the car (which thankfully is easy to find, because the car came with no manual.)

Technically, the car is my dad's, but he knows I'll be doing all the work on it, so I'm pretty excited about that. So far, it's bone stock with ~112,000 miles:

It's a V6 Quattro with the automatic tranny. Pretty decent power, not quite as good as my Saab, but still has it where it needs it.

I'm looking right now at one or two B6 A4s around Dayton, Ohio, because I'd like to get one for myself. I found a decent V6 Quattro nearby, but I'd kind of like a 1.8T, except that I've heard they're weak when combined with the automatic and the Quattro. And yes, I do want an auto.

Anyway, I wanted to say hello and end with a question regarding the tuning for these cars. I've read that for the B6 1.8T, there are a couple different chip manufacturers, and that's great, but are any of these chips DIY, or do you have to take it to them to have it installed? My ECU software for my Saab was mailed to me and I did it myself; is it not recommended to it yourself with a chip? Thanks, and I hope to be here for a while!
