Smile hey hey

my first post here although i have been lurking in the background for a while now reading posts and such, and seams like a knowledgable group on here.

i recently purchased a used 2003 audi a6 3.0 quattro

http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...w18/audi%20a6/

all and all i am very pleased with the car, have admired audi for years.

the dealership i bought it from was to say the least ... shady, infact the only reason i bought the car where i did was they sold it to me for 9 grand and got me the payments i wanted.

also he had the carfax stating the car was clean. so i went for it.

i have a problem, i`m going to search on here a little longer and i am sure i already have my answer but i havent seen for my specific year yet, i need a windshield wiper i have went to several part stores and as you may have guessed none have what will fit (what sux is when they say they do then doesnt fit.)

so just incase if someone can chime in with a place to buy the "proper" wiper i would be sooo pleased, as it is starting to rain here in the north bay i have to get to work tomorow and that may be rather dificult with out a wiper blade and no alternative transportation.

thank you for reading sorry it was kind of long, hope to enjoy my stay here

Welcome.

Any parts store should have the right size. If you are talking about the drivers side blade that has the wind deflector, then you won't find that anywhere but the dealer. So you can either get the rubber refill and retain the original blade or just swap the whole blade out for a replacement that doesnt have the deflector. Thats gotta be what youre talking about because really, any parts store should have the size you need. It's nothing special.

well unfortunately, i broke the actual blade.

its actually the passenger side that broke and i`ve went to several part stores and even ordered them online from bosch which is allegedly a factory replica, but after SEVERAL attempts at installing it is more then obviouse it is simply the wrong one.

i really dont want to go back to that dealership but the next audi dealer is like 40 miles away.

oh well though if thats what has to be done then thats what has to be done.

the next problem i am running into is performance upgrades.

so far i have found noone that makes a full performance exhaust system, and that makes me wonder how hard other upgrades will be to find.

The mechanisms to change the blades are different on all cars and can be a little confusing...... Again, this is online so I dont know if your 16 or 60, so please don't take offense.

Any parts store should have the right blades.

it`s all good no offense taken, i understand this seams like a really stupid question.

yes i have changed wiper blades many many times before, and i just found them and in fact the display pic shows a great example with what i am working with.

i`m ordering these today, its amazing but there is no part store anywhere near me that has these, and due to my growing dislike for my local audi dealer i sooo didn`t want to go back there to get them.

thank you for the input though, i was really ready to believe that i was just a total idiot and couldn`t manage something as simple as a wiper blade.
