Wow, $10k for a 2001.5 A6with the sport package is really cheap! I almost bought one at that price back in December. But when I pulled the Carfax it revealed that the car was in a serious front end accident. If you have not already done so, I would check the Carfax to be sure that you are getting a good car.

Carfax said one owner I swear to god.. LOL.. Im jsut waiting to open the valve covers and see gallons of sludge. but supposedly the guy changed the oil every 3k miles. Anyone know if the valve cover and oil pan gaskets are reusable? i dotn wanna spend $120 to see in there. but I will ifI have to .. cant figure out how to post pics either. sorry.

He said the turbos were completely shot.. ? I dont care. what the what the hell.. they make a TON of noise but the car runs jsut fine if you turn the radio up. Who needs turbos? No... Im just kidding. Here it is.. It was the fathers car.. they got it cheap from a very wealthy family friend.. googled him too. He IS rich.. they had the car 3 years and it was time to get the 17 year old son a car..not such a good idea to give him this one. speeding tickets and such. so he tells the son "son.... YOU sell the car then we'll take some of the proceeds from that and buy you something a little more 17 year old worthy." or im imagining thats what he said. forgive the quotes.. father drives a truck (nice yukon)to work and hes getting a pickup for his job and they need NOT 4 cars. so the son tells me $13,500. hes WAY out of my price range. then he tells me "listen.. My dad said I have to get at least $10k. If you can come up with $10k cash no bullshityou can have the car." So I beg, borrow and steal.. well I didnt have to steal but ****** A I was about to..I carfax it.. cars clean.. .I get the 10 gees. meet the dad. Gorgeous clean house.. Nice guy.. Real cool. seemed real honest. give him the cash sons happy looking for GTI's and Jeeps and other cool cars.. The dads happy cuz Juniors happy. Seemed like a good kid too.
So I got lucky. If I can get a year out of it without major problems its a HUGE score. Ill sell it for $10k next March.. Or I just might start modding it in a year. or keep it stock..
My friend summed it up the other night. 0-60 in OH **** !
Im very happy. really. Im going to do the sludge check tonight or tomorrow and if its clean I'll be ecstatic.

 

Interesting story. But do you know if they changed the timing belt (supposed to be done at 80k miles along with a host of other things)? If not, then you should do it asap. If you don't do the 80k service,you are in for a heap of trouble. I am talking about major cashola out of your pocket--up to 5K in engine repair work. The 80k service at an Audi dealer is still quite expense though (between $1000 to $1200).

 

No it wasnt done yet. Ill get it done soon. Going to buy a warranty too. Manual said replace the timing belt at 105k. Too late for me. I say 80k.. and better sleep at night. Ill probably do it myself, or with my buddy.. BMW tech
