Im brand new to the forum. I bought a 05 a4 1.8T in july when I got back from deployment. I bought it with 73000 miles and I have about 80000 miles on the car. First car I have ever boughten. I had the power crank sensor replaced early on and then the pcv system replaced. It has been running great for the last three months. I went on leave and the car was sitting outside in the cold weather for two weeks. I come back and it starts up fine. I drove 150 miles over two days then i didn't drive it for three days. Today I start it up no problem. I drive a few miles then I notice it starts sputtering a lot. Im giving it gas and it is not accelerating. I make it to my destination. Come back two hours later starts up fine I drive 10 minutes the check engine light goes on then it starts sputtering again. I stop at the gate to my base to check in then the engine stops. I trying starting it but nothing happens when I give it gas. No rpms or anything. I finally got it started for a second and idled down the road a 100ft then it died. It seems to turn over but nothing happened when I Hit the gas. Im not a gear head so I have no idea whats up. Had to get it towed to the parking lot outside my building. Its dead wont start at all.

I only drove about 2000 miles since my last oil change. My bud changed the oil for me when he borrowed my car. People were saying it might be the oil.

Could it be the wrong oil with the cold weather? Possibly a fuel filter issue? Some people were saying its the oil filter or fuel filter. I really have know Idea. Im broke as hell right now so I would like to get a good Idea of what the issue is before I try and take it in or maybe even fix myself. Im up in fort Lewis, WA.
