Default just bought an audi

I have just purchased a 1988 audi 80. I bought it on the east coast and I am on the west. So I have yet to drive the car. I am wondering about any common problems, dealing with the area or model. I also want to make the car quicker without swapping engines. Anything pertaining to these or any helpful hints would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forums! Hope you find it useful and entertaining here. I'm not as familiar with the 80, but there are many here that are. What engine do you have?
