Hey guys, I'm new to Audis in general and just bought a '04 black on black A4 1.8T Quattro. One thing I realized about the car is 1) the car doesn't pick up as quick as I expected unless I floor it. 2) I believe my tank is 16 gallons and my old car was about 11 gals and it seems as if my audi gives me less miles on a full tank than my old car which was a 98 sentra...

I saw from previous posts to put a chip in the car but which ones are good for my model and will that make the car a little more fuel efficient?

So far I just tinted the car all around 25%, will add pics soon.

welcome.......go with either an APR or GAIC chip setup.
APR 1+ will run you about $1000, and will put you up to 235hp and 275 ft-lb. I currently have the APR 1+ setup with the APR Stealth exhaust and I am around 250hp. I am extremely happy with APR and would highly recommend.

 

do you have tiptronic or manual shift? If tiptronic, you'll need a tip chip as well.......not sure of the cost on that............

 

Sorry for the late reply, but to answer your question I have an auto w/ tiptronic. For the apr chip is the 1K w/ installation or just to buy the chip?

 

sorry, i've been out of town.......I paid $1K for the Stage 1+ chip and injectors and that included the install......yours will be more because you also need a tip chip.......sorry, not sure of the cost on that

 

Just FYI, the tip chip isn't a must.

The tip chip is available to supposedly prevent the lagging.
