Hey audi people ---

I currently drive a BMW e36 m3, and I'm considering selling it, and getting an s4 quattro sedan. I've looked a little bit in the S forum and I didn't immediately see any threads on my main question - which is what year/model people think is best bang-for-buck in terms of initial buying price + modability. I'd like to make a beast out of it (without blowing the xfer case if possible lol) and I've heard that the 6-cyl.s were more modable but before I jump in an buy something I really want to know what I'm doing.

Oh, and just to show what an audi newb I am I don't even know the various model designations, so hopefully I can find an audi 101 on here somewhere. So um yea, that's me.

 

Hey welcome to the forums. Yes the 2.7t V6's are the most moddable S4's engine wise. Those would be the 2000-2002's or often called B5's (chassis name also shared with the A4). Slap two ko4 turbos on there and misc other parts and you're looking at +400hp.
