Default new to A4s

Hey everyone, I picked up my '98 A4 1.8TQ automatic w/ 80,000 miles last monday.
I got a sweet deal of $6500 from two Notre Dame students who were going home to Costa Rica.
The catch was that the car needed a decent amount of work:
TB, tensioners, water pump, etc
valve cover gasket
front outer tie-rod ends
rear wheel bearing
I got these major things along with a few minors (spark plugs, pollen filter, dipstick tube replacement, and an oil change) done for $2200 at the local dealer
Was this a good deal?
I'm in college so after spending this much budget will be squeezed but i'm gonna chip, exhaust, and wheels when the money comes around.

So far I love the car. Looks like i might be a lifelong Audi fan.

Hey welcome to the forum. Your deal is probably average to a little high. I bought my 97 with 63k miles 2 years ago for $7000.
